Hotel Terra Maria

Mykonos hotel number two Hotel Terra Maria ( listen to the music on the site-very cool), smack dab in the center of everything.  I wanted to stay in the same hotel as before but could not remember the name and could not find any pictures referencing the name of the hotel so from now on we will have a record of our hotels on this blog.  This hotel was perfect for our needs.  Super Basic but really nice.  Our room was at the top of those stairs and there was a bakery directly next door and another bakery a few doors down.  We woke every morning to the smell of bread and the sound of birds.  Apparently fresh baked bread attracts birds.  There was also a club or two that played music until 5am.  Perfectly Mykonos

Our room was at the top of those stairs

The room was really much nicer than it photographed, the window opened to beautiful views

Huge deep sink

Little common area outside our door

The red balcony belongs to the bakery, that was right next to our room

The birds were there every morning, looking for bread scraps.  Took me awhile to not be totally freaked out by them.  Pigeons are just rats with wings right?

Lyo hotel

This was our third trip to Greece and to Mykonos so we had a good idea of how we wanted to spend our time.  I decided to split our stay in Mykonos in half with two different hotels in two different parts of the island. Half the trip lazy and relaxing the other half having some fun with nightlife, shopping, people watching and cocktails.   First up was Lylo boutique hotel which sits high on a slope above the beach on a long windy road  in the middle of no nowhere.  OMG!!  We. Loved. This . Hotel.  18 rooms in a series of low-rise unassuming building. The property was pristine, contemporary, super minimal with an open air bar, restaurant and great sea views.  There is cool viby lounge music playing aloud throughout the premises.  The only color came from seat cushions and flowers.  Beautiful flowers. The staff was wonderful.  Yes, you Annette and Margaret and Desperna!!
