Said chocolate in Soho

 I read that Said served some of the best hot chocolate in the city so I put it on my list of things to do. 

The SAID chocolate factory was founded in Rome’s San Lorenzo district in 1923 and if you happen to be in Rome you can visit 135 Via Tiburtina to enjoy all of their creations.  They have a gorgeous little spot in London now.  The walls were covered in silver chocolate molds of all shapes and sizes and a fire was lit in the fireplace along one wall .  The counter was covered on one side with large glass jars filled with white, milk and dark chocolate and on the other side a range of hand made truffles.  It was just cold enough outside for us to appreciate hot chocolate sitting next to a small fire.  SAID  is very much a beacon for Italians seemed as if everyone around us was speaking in Italtian.  Thats a good sign right??

 Thumbs up, we loved the chocolate, notice the three kinds of chocolate along the rim of the cup( dark, milk, pistachio).  Yes, we licked it all off the sides.  

Another fun tea tour

Last year while in London I took the holiday tea bus tour all by my lonesome.  I had great fun doing it, I mean really great fun. So when I found out they were doing a special evening holiday bus tour on the dates that we would be in London I  decided to invite Greg and do it again.  

 This particular tea bus tour didn't actually include tea, It was  a Haymans brand Gin lovers afternoon tea tour.  Everything the same except the tea was replaced with Gin based cocktails.  If you are not familiar with this, Basically,  you board a very festive double decker english bus for about two and half hours, eating and drinking  while  you ride around town seeing the major London sites.  There is audio commentary when you pass something important all other times holiday music was playing.  So it was very festive.  Below are random pictures in no particular order.

 I don't know what this drink was but it was also very good.  apparently I do like gin in the form of a girly cocktail

Dishoom

First stop in London-- Dishoom for some of my favorite foods. Another warm and cozy welcome.

Wagamama

Noodles bars are my favorite. I managed to get in a bowl of Ramen or Udon  a least once a day while we were in London.  Wagamama is a chain that we discovered in Amsterdam, There are now restaurants in NYC and Boston. This one was located just across the street from our hotel which made it very convenient to stop in on our way back to our room for a late night--snack??  Dinner 2???
