We had a 7:25 am flight out of Miami, which meant a 3:00am wake up and setting out for the airport at 4:am to meet my 2-4 hours at the airport prior to the flight requirement. It worked out well because the airport was quite empty and we moved through everything very quickly. The same goes for our arrival in Cancun. We moved quickly through customs and immigration, secured our rental car and started the 90 minute drive to Tulum.
